MEGA WIN (Mega Ball)

The Arcade's ★ MEGA WIN: a mega ball drops into a balls, gems or PET ITEM bin. Odds and payouts at every stake, and the only source of the board's pet items. Replaced the Ball Rush catch game.

Overview

The ★ MEGA WIN is the Arcade's big special: a launch that lands the ★ bin and slips past the DOOR. The five bins flip over to prizes — 40 BALLS · 20 GEMS · PET ITEM · 100 GEMS · 200 BALLS — and a glowing mega ball is launched through the pinball board into one of them. There is nothing to catch and nothing to aim: the prize is rolled by the server the moment the MEGA WIN starts, and the ball simply rides to the bin it was given.

NOTE
This page used to describe BALL RUSH, the 30s tray-and-bird catch game. It was retired and the mega ball took its place. The pet-item odds were carried over exactly — see History.

How it plays

  • The cabinet announces the MEGA WIN and the five bins turn into prize bins. The two big bins (100 GEMS and 200 BALLS) wear gold trim.
  • The mega ball launches and bounces down a real board path into the rolled bin.
  • A balls or gems bin pays straight into your wallet.
  • The middle PET ITEM bin opens a vertical prize wheel showing every item your stake can win. It spins, stops on your item, and a prize card appears with COLLECT. The item goes to your bag.
  • After a MEGA WIN the ★ bin goes cold for a short while, like after a DOOR.

The five bins

The pet item is rolled first. If it misses, one of the four prize bins is picked by weight — balls are the common half, gems about half as common, and each big bin is roughly one in five of its small one.

Odds by stake

Chance of each bin per MEGA WIN, before any Pet Item Find bonus. The last column is the PET ITEM chance with every Marquee find row claimed.

Payouts by stake

Ball bins pay their base × the square root of the stake, and every bin pays exactly the number it shows. Gem bins follow a much flatter curve — gems stay the small, rare half of the machine.

The PET ITEM bin

The MEGA WIN is where pet items come from. The chance is what the old Ball Rush storm added up to: at least one find across 66 per-ball rolls at your stake's per-ball rate (0.02% at ×1, 0.4% at ×200). One MEGA WIN pays at most one item.

Your per-ball rate is multiplied by (1 + Pet Item Find) from the Marquee's Pet Item Find rows (68 rows, +34% in total).

The prize wheel pool

The stake gates which rarity can appear at all: below ×10 only the standards, ×10+ adds the legendary group, and ×100+ adds the mythic Echo Relic. The mythic is rolled first, then the legendary group, then a standard; within a group each item is an equal pick. The wheel's faces are for show — the item was decided by the roll.

Older silver and gold versions of the Coin Charm, Gold Tooth and Portal Compass were retired — any you still own are converted to the bronze item automatically, and only the bronze ones drop.

History: Ball Rush

Until the mega ball arrived, a MEGA WIN started BALL RUSH: a 30s storm where you slid a tray with a bird on it to catch falling white, red and gold balls, dodged lightning balls, and grabbed gem pouches and pet items as they fell. A mystery block handed out four power-ups — Flying Feather, Slow Time, Giant Mushroom and Wind Suck.

  • The catch game, its ball cap, the gem pouches and all four power-ups are retired. None of them can be played or earned any more.
  • Pet-item odds did not change: the PET ITEM bin's chance equals the old chance of at least one item in a 66-ball storm.
  • Balls and gems now scale with your stake — in Ball Rush the stake never changed the ball payout.

Tips

  • Pet-item hunting is a stake game: a MEGA WIN at ×200 is a pet item 23.2% of the time against 1.31% at ×1, and only ×100+ can ever roll the Echo Relic.
  • The Marquee's Pet Item Find rows are worth claiming before you farm — they multiply the per-ball rate the PET ITEM chance is built from.
  • Vinnie the Hamster raises how often the ★ bin hits at all, which is the only way to see more MEGA WINs.
